Singularity is a container solution, e.g., similar to Docker, whose primary design goals are: reproducible container software configurations, the ability to easily transfer containers from one machine to another, reasonable compatibility to the underlying operating system, and the ability to run containers securely in high performance / advanced computing environments. Singularity is available to be used on Compute Canada's systems. This hour-long presentation will cover what Singularity is, when one might consider using it, how to build a container, and how to use such on Compute Canada systems.
