Topic: "Is the Intel Xeon Phi right for me?"
Speaker: Fei Mao, SHARCNET
Webinar link: SN-Seminars Vidyo room

Xeon Phi is the first Intel Many Integrated Core (MIC) architecture product that combines small X86 cores onto a single chip. In this seminar, both hardware architecture and software developing model will be introduced. Modern parallel programming models, like OpenMP, OpenCL and MPI, will be discussed with code examples, optimizations and performance comparison with CPU and GPU. This seminar will also present you a simple process to quickly evaluate whether your program is best served by continuing to develop using CPU/GPU, or if adding the Phi coprocessor to your platform will increase the performance.
