Many scholarly journals are now requiring authors to submit a Data Availability Statement (DAS). Because of this requirement\, the impo rtance of publishing research data in a data repository and obtaining a pe rmanent URL\, such as a digital object identifier (DOI)\, is becoming incr easingly important. This workshop introduces the guiding principles of dat a publishing. During this workshop\, you will learn:

How to pre pare your data for sharing and long-term access
How to select a da ta repository that meets your needs
A brief overview of the data d eposit process for York’s institutional research data repository\, York University’s Dataverse\, will also be provided.
This workshop wi ll be taught by the Libraries’ Research Data Management team and is part of the Libraries'\; programming for International Love Data Week 2026.
