Workshop: Using Extended Markdown for Research Data

This practical workshop, delivered by the UBC Library Research Data Management team, explores extended Markdown features that allow researchers to create more dynamic and functional documents. Designed for graduate students, researchers, and staff, the session demonstrates how to enhance basic Markdown with advanced formatting for more professional and versatile research documentation.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Use tables, footnotes, task lists, and other extended Markdown elements
  • Create more detailed and organized documentation to support complex research projects
  • Apply extended Markdown features to improve collaboration, reproducibility, and project management
