 workshop is meant to give you the skills to create and publish a static we
 bsite using <a href="https://jekyllrb.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"
 >Jekyll</a> and <a href="https://pages.github.com/" target="_blank" rel="n
 oopener">GitHub Pages</a>. We’ll explore the default Jekyll installation
  setup and walk through the steps to publish a basic web site. We’ll cov
 er the basic building blocks of Jekyll sites and discuss best practices fo
 r organizing your content. Finally\, we’ll look at customizing your Jeky
 ll site.</p><h3>Prerequisites:</h3><ul><li>A <a href="https://github.com/"
  target="_blank" rel="noopener">GitHub.com account</a>. We’ll use GitHub
  Pages to host our static site.</li><li>Some familiarity with working in a
  command line / Unix shell interface. If you don’t feel comfortable doin
 g this\, please first start with this workshop: <a href="https://ubc-libra
 ry-rc.github.io/intro-shell/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Intro to the 
 Unix Shell</a>.</li><li>Some familiarity with Git and GitHub. We’ll use 
 Git and GitHub workflows to publish our site. If you’d like to learn mor
