This workshop is sp onsored by the organizers of the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institut e Conference: Day 1 is scheduled from 1 p.m. AT to 5:30 p.m. AT\; Day 2 is scheduled from 9 a.m. AT to 5:30 p.m. AT. The research and healthcare ecosystem in Canada is heading towards precision medicine via genomics\, a nd oncology is no exception. The current and next generation of cancer res earchers must acquire the capacity to integrate bioinformatics into their projects\, and oncologists must acquire bioinformatics literacy to effecti vely communicate with patients in the clinic. This hands-on workshop intro duces participants to the essential concepts\, workflows\, and interpretat ion strategies used in clinical cancer genomics. The workshop will focus o n applying bioinformatics to real-world oncology cases\, with an emphasis on data manipulation\, genome annotation\, and the interpretation of genom ic results as they relate to clinical outcomes.
